Elena was once a priestess in Palmeni Temple in a remote part of the Daein countryside. She spent her days as any other temple maiden, until the day the Serenes Massacre occurred and she met the eldest of the Heron siblings, Lillia. Elena tended to the laguz, who had been confined to a small, windowless room on an upper level of the temple. The two gradually formed a sense of trust, despite not being able to not speak the other's language; Elena understood what Lillia wanted her to do. It was to take both the Galdar and an aged bronze medallion and flee with it, the Heron had been taken by Mad King Ashnard, as he wanted the Dark God freed. But Lillia refused to do it, as she didn't have that power. Only the direct descendants of Altina could sing the Galdrar of Release, where as Herons can only contain the Dark God in it's prison. Elena fleed, being joined by one of Daein's Four Riders, General Gawain. When on the run, Elena carried the medallion after several years, she and Gawain reached the laguz country of Gallia. When she had her two children, Ike and Mist, she sung an alternate version of the Galdrar of Release as a lullaby to her children. One day, Greil made the mistake of touching the medallion and the spirit of the Dark God drove him into a beserk state. Think to only save Greil from himself, Elena ran out into the street, approaching Greil when he carried the medallion. He made the mistake of stabbing Elena through her chest, she took the medallion, smiled and forgave him before passing away. It was after that that Greil left Gallia with Ike and Mist and moved to Crimea. Mist was given the responsibility of looking after the medallion, as she is immune to it's negative effects.

Elincia Ridell Crimea had been kept in seclusion for most of her life to avoid a possible power struggle and blood feud in the court of Crimea. When Daein attacked, she, along with an escort of Knights, left only to be ambushed the way from the war torn city. By herself, Elincia was found by the Greil Mercenaries and they had bought her back, later, she employed them as an Envoy to give her save passage to Gallia, and then Begnion before making their way back to the Capial of Melior. She is naive and a tad ignorant in Path of Radiance, but in Radiant Dawn, this is removed, as the three years on the throne have given Elincia a stronger sense of self. But even after she is declared Queen, many nobles look down upon her and berate every decision she makes. Including that of giving the title of Lord and General to the commoner, Ike, who is not of noble birth, only a simple mercenary. Ike decides to leave the court, hoping to aide Elincia and to stop the nobles from their bickering. Sadly, it doesn't do much, as they continue on as they always have. Contrary to popular belief, Ike and Elincia do not marry at the ending of Radiant Dawn, instead, Elincia and Geoffrey, her closest and most trust worthy knight, wed. Geoffrey has stated in in game conversations his feelings for Elincia and Elincia seems to feel the same way. If she is to fall in battle, Geoffrey will say how his life is meaningless without her. Elincia governed Crimea with resolve and a deep love for her people. Her reign was remembered as a golden age.

Nailah is a new character to Radiant Dawn, she is a rare Wolf laguz and her fur is as white as the snow. Nailah comes from the desert of Hatari, which is the country she rules. Exceptionally powerful and near ruthless in battle. One day, when wandering the Desert of Death, she found a sickly Rafiel and bought him back with her to Hatari. Amazed that anything alive would even be found out there. Nailah assumed that the entire world, save for her kingdom, had all been washed away by The Great Flood prior to both stories. Later, when she meets The Dawn Brigade, she befriends them and decides to lend her services, along with her right hand follower, Volug, into helping them reclaim the Kingdom of Daein. Returning to Hatari with recent events graven in her heart, Nailah hoped to migrate her people across the desert.

Rafiel performed a ceremony in Serenes Forest to wake his father, the king. Eventually he returned to Hatari. Thought to be dead along with the rest of his kin (save for Reyson, and later Leanne), the Elder Heron Prince Rafiel was actually captured and sold. Purchased by the Begnion Senator Hetzel, he actually treated the heron with care. One day, Rafiel fell ill and it crippled the laguz's wings. Ever since, he has been unable to fly like his siblings. According to Nailah, Rafiel is what true herons are like; Quiet, kind, soft spoken and gentle. Where as Reyson and Leanne are more stubborn and aggressive for Herons. Ike feels that if he merely speaks too loudly at Rafiel, he will kill the bird.

Leanne is the youngest sister of Reyson and Rafiel. She was thought to have been killed during the Serenes Massacre twenty years prior to Path of Radiance. Her elder sister, Lilina, sang her a Galdrar to sleep in the Serenes Forest. Having been isolated and protected for two decades, her magic is more powerful then both her brother's. This is evident when she can read the inner turmoil inside Elincia's heart and later with Naesala, who doesn't like having his soul looked into. Leanne is very close to the Raven King, even going so far as to defend him from Skrimir's tyranny. She says in the partly broken modern language: "Don't bully Naesala!" If she and Naesala A support each other, they will wed and Leanne will have a Raven Boy and a Heron Girl.

One of Ashera's original Four Heroes who fought against Yune prior to both Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn.He was of the Heron Clan.Later, he falls in love with Altina, who was also of the Four Heroes.Eventually, it resulted in a child which was to have been blessed for being of both Beorc and Laguz relations.However, after the child was born, Lehran lost his Laguz abilities (sing Galdrar, transform etc) and what troubled them more was the child only appeared to have beorc characteristics.Driven into despair, Lehran secluded himself away, in the meanwhile, he attempted to kill himself, which was taboo for one who could hear the voice of the Goddess.He decided to say that it as all a rumor, there was no child, he and Altina had never married.Deghinsea of the Dragon Tribe took Lehran into Goldoa and he then faded from the pages of history.Altina, meanwhile, took another husband and raised the child to be only human.Several centuries later, Lehran meets Misaha, an Apostle of Begnion. She reveals to him the Brand on the back of her palm.Deciding to reveal that she is a Branded, Lehran seems to rejoice and he admires Misaha, saying how he sees Altina in her eyes.Unfortunately, the happiness is short lived.After her plan is made to the Senate, they kill her and Lehran feels the pain along with those of the Heron Clan, who were unjustly blamed for her assassination;Even though Herons are not capable of fighting in anyway.Lehran's dark wings break from his robes in the presence of other Beorc and they make to attack him.Flying to Serenes, Lehran witness' the Massacre and is on the verge of losing his mind again from grief and hatred at what the Beorc have done to his people.In Radiant Dawn, he sides with Ashera and is all for the world being destroyed.If the player has filled certain requirements and has witnessed Ike's memory scene, Lehran will survive and join the final battle against Ashera.1200 years after Radiant Dawn, Lehran and Ashera talk; The Goddess of Dawn mentions something of a new war coming to Tellius.

Micaiah is one of the two Lord characters in Part One of Radiant Dawn. She is often called "The Silver Haired Maiden" as to her bright locks and she is easily identified with her ability to heal people with a simple touch, transferring her life force to the one wounded or dying. Such is the case with the young boy, Nico, after he is accidentally shot by a stray arrow from the Begnion soldiers. Micaiah is actually older then her apperance portrays, being a Branded like Soren, her life span is both longer than that of a normal Beorc and her physical aging is slowed down. Years ago, in the backstreets of Daein's capitial, Nevassa, she met a young Sothe. Frail and thin he appeared to be but Micaiah noticed how stern his eyes were. Extending her hand to him, she cared for him and promised to never leave his side. Micaiah is, reluctently, unable to keep her word to him, as where Sothe grows older, she remains the same and does not wish for him to be persecuted by her because of her heritage. Upon reuniting with Sothe after The Mad King's War, they renew their promise, which Micaiah swears to never break again. When Lehran's Medallion starts to be effected by the War with The Laguz Alliance and The Daein Liberation Army, Micaiah hears a voice calling her name. Upon entering the chamber where the medallion is kept, she sings the true Galdrar in place of Apostle Sanaki, who only knew the melody, and not the lyrics. This reveals to Sanaki that Micaiah is the true Apostle and her Elder Sister. Crowned 15th queen of Daein at her subject's entreaty, Micaiah ushered in a new era of prosperity and peace.

King of the Laguz Raven nation, Kilvas. He sells his forces for any amount of gold to beorc to gain favor. At first, Naesala is portrayed as an uncaring, back stabber who has no personal ties to anyone, be they Beorc or Laguz. However, deep, very deep down, he is a caring and devoted King. In Radiant Dawn, Naesla is forced to betray the Laguz Alliance and King Tibarn's trust as he is held captive by the law of The Blood Pact, which the previous Kilvan King also suffered from. Fearing for the safety of his people, Naesala followed the Senate's Orders from Begnion, and decimated the Hawk people of Pheonicis, leaving only the elderly and children to live, along with Tibarn and a few other hawks, who at the time were away helping the War Effort. Naesala, when questioned by Sanaki, that "he would take the blame for his people all on his own?" he answers that he would and that he nor she need explain his reasons to Tibarn or anyone else and Sanaki comments how selfless it is of him to do so. He later becomes a leading diplomat to all tribes of Laguz and beorc tying the nations together peacefully. He is good friends with Reyson and Leanne of the Heron tribe. When defended by Leanne from Skrimir, he protects her, along with Nealuchi after Skirmir leaves, Leanne says (in the ancient language) "That was very brave, Naesala."

Tormod is the Leader of The Laguz Emancipation movement against the Senators of Begnion. In the public eye, they label Tormod and the others as a simple thief and an outlaw. It's unknown what Tormod's history is. His foster Father, Muariam claims that the young Beorc was little more then an infant when he claimed and cared for the then infant-Tormod. Tormod is actually quick on his feet, having been taught to run like a beast tribesman by Muraiam. Not even Vika, a raven Laguz, can keep up with him.

Ashera is one half of the goddess who lays guardian ship over the world of Tellius. Long ago, she and her Three Heroes played a part in sealing the Dark God into an aged bronze Medallion, later known as Lehran's Medallion. By some scholar's, it is referred to as "The Fire Emblem" because of the blue light resembles flames. But this was in fact a lie constructed by one of Ashera's [Four] Heroes, Deghinsea of Goldoa. The God inside was in fact Ashera's younger sister, Yune. She is a polar opposite to Ashera, she is the Embodiment of Chaos. That is not a bad thing, as where Ashera is restriction and the past history of Tellius; Yune is the future of the world and absolute freedom.

Reyson worked hard as a leader in the new laguz nation. His iron resolve under a pretty face was suited for politics. Prince Reyson is a close friend to King Tibarn from the Hawk Nation, Pheonicis. Having grown up there after the Serenes Massacre that stole the lives of most of his family (save for his elderly father and infant sister Leanne), he's not a typical heron. Most being very calm, quiet and very peaceful, Reyson is prone to be very flustered and angry at times. He once threated to punch Ike on the nose as the Beorc suggested that he take a moment to rest. When Ike asked him how could a Heron attack, Reyson responds with that he can, but he recieves more damage then his attacker. When fighting Duke Oliver Tanas, Reyson dealt him one blow on the nose, only to break the bones in the back of his hand.

A proud wyvern soldier from Daein. Three years ago, she was just as any other Daein citizen. Bearing a strong hatred for the Laguz, using the derogetory term "sub-human" when referring to them. When she meets Ike aboard his grounded ship, her perspective on things begins to broaden and she gradually changes, deciding to see things for herself, instead of what people tell her and believe them right from the start. After her father is killed in The Mad King's War, she takes rule over Talrega and runs a Delivery service with her partner, Haar, who served General Shiriham for many years. If Jill and Haar share an A support, they get married when Radiant Dawn ends.

The Black Knight

As one of the new Four Rider's of the Daein Kingdom (the previous four were Tauroneo, Lanvega, Bryce and Gawain) he is ultimately shrouded in mystery, never removing his armor when indoors. He is the murderer of Ike's Father, Greil. Becoming Ike's reason for revenge and hoping that he will avenge his father. In Chapter twenty-seven of Path of Radiance, Moment of Faith, Ike duels The Black Knight in Castle Nados along with his sister, Mist, but it is only her brother which can damage the Knight's armor with the blessed sword, Ragnell. Canonically, Ike does defeat him and he is buried under the rubble of the Castle. If the player is able to defeat him in the time allowed, you recieve Nasir into your party, otherwise you obtain Ena as Nasir stays behind to hold off the Knight and allow Ike, Mist and Ena to escape. Three years pass and he is rumored to return to Daein at the side of The Maiden of Dawn, Micaiah. The scars in his armor are from Ike's own bladework. Later in Radiant Dawn, Ranulf is the one who discovers the Knight's idenity and tells Ike the one responsible for his Father's death. The one beneath the armor, comes as a shock to Ike.

General Zelgius

The Earl of Kadol from the Begnion Empire. He's extremely powerful and loyal to Empress Sanaki and Prime Minister Sephiran, which he serves without question. Once a student under General Gawain (Greil) from Daein, he has since improved his swordsmanship and continues to improve his own bladework.

The youngest child of Elena and Greil. She looks up to her Older Brother, Ike, a great deal and doesn't like the thought of him being somewhere that she doesn't know. The reason for this is Ike is the only remaining blood family Mist has. Heavily intune to the forces of Balance, Mist, like her Mother before her, can carry the Fire Emblem without being affected by Yune's spirit, which is sealed within the bronze. When the War reaches it's peak, Mist falls ill on the battlefield and either Titania or Boyd alert Ike to her condition. To see the differences in the scene Mist and Boyd need to have an A support grade before the event can occur as when at the base, you can view their info conversation Protection. During a later battle Boyd says "for Ike to take care of Mist while he keeps things covered among the ranks" and then Ike thanks him before taking Mist to safety. If sharking an A support, Mist and Boyd marry, she cries during the vows, much to Boyd's dismay.

Pelleas - Spirit Charming Sage

Pelleas is a Spirit Charmer. Someone who paid a grave price in exchange for magical powers through the said spirits. As a result, he obtains a mark to show proof of the deal he made. The mark is on his forehead, though we never see it in-game. He is the son of Almedha from Goldoa and therefore the prince of Daein. In the end, however, After revealing his lack of Royal Blood, Pelleas gave up the throne and served at court, learning to speak easily to all.

Ranulf is a proud warrior of the Beast Tribe from Gallia. If he doesn't support rank-A with Ike, he will remain on Tellius for the rest of his life. If he does, he will be the one to journey with Ike (in place of Soren) across the world. Ranulf and Ike grow a fast friendship during the short time the Laguz stays inside the party. He offically joins in Path of Radiance for Chapter Twenty-three "The Great Bridge." Depending on the Player's actions and choices, Ike may or may not have an A grade with another unit from his support selections. Ranulf is the only one able to make Ike break out of his constant frowning by making him laugh in their support conversations by calling himself a fish, even if he is a cat. Ranulf was often run ragged by advising the new king. While he winced at his duties, Ranulf still indulged Skrimir.

Titania - Scarlet-Haired Paladin

Titania was once a royal knight in service to the Crimean Kingdom. She met Greil and Elena when she was taking sometime to study inside the Kingdom of Gallia. Since then, she has been beside Greil and knows of the secret he carries in referrence to the bronze medallion that Elena carried before her death. Afterwards, Titania became something of a Surrogate mother to Ike, Mist and Rolf, the youngest members of the Mercenary company. During Path of Radiance, it was revealed (more subtley through the main plot, but directly during Ike and Titania's A support) that she had been in love with Greil, but after Elena's death, she knew she could never replace his wife even though she has been gone. After Radiant Dawn, she visits the graves of her fallen companions once a year.

Mia - Aspiring Lady of Blades

Mia is only a recent member of The Greil Mercenaries. She had been assigned to rally fighters for Crimea's army while under the growing Daein opression. It was Greil who saved her from Prison. Deciding to pay him back, she lends her blade to Ike even after his father is killed. Even three years later, she remained with the Company and a sparring partner for Ike. He seems to love sword training with her as she doesn't complain of her injuries, unlike Titania and Mist, (though Ike is stronger then most normal beorc men.) She tells Rhys in that she had an old woman read her fortune. Mia seems to think that she has an "Archrival" somewhere on Tellius. The rival is said to wear white robes and that they (as it wasn't confirmed to be man or woman) will "ride toward her." There are two likely canidates for Mia's rival, either it is Lucia of Crimea, or Queen Elincia herself as she wear white armor, rides a Pegasi and wields a sword. After Radiant Dawn Mia set off in search of new opponents. She traveled the continent of Tellius, but sometimes she returned to Greil's Retreat for a brief rest.

In Fire Emblem Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn Soren is one of the magic units that come in the games. As his title implies, he is exceptionally gifted in the element of wind. Though that does not mean he has a potential weakness in the other elements. If the player receives the A-rank grade in both PoR and RD, Soren will travel the world with his best friend Ike, and neither of them ever return to Tellius. However, if Soren A-supports with Stefan, he will journey to the Grann Desert and they will run their own country together. Being half Dragon means that Soren will likely live to be a bit over 2000 years old (As it is stated that is how long Dragon Laguz live) as he is the son of the Doweger Empress, Almedha from Goldoa and the Son of the deceased Mad King, Ashnard. Therefore, this makes Soren the true heir, and Prince to the Kingdom of Daein in place of Prince Pelleas.

Ike - Hero of The Blue Flames

He's from Fire Emblem Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. In japanese the titles are Sôuen no Kiseki (Path of Radiance) and Akatsuki no Megami. (Radiant Dawn) This is the final image given at the ending credits of RD and the words that came with it were: In days long past, a young man strode the lands of Tellius. He was simple yet true, his deeds brave and noble. He reunited two races long at war, and healed the heart of a goddess long gone mad. Ask any you meet be they young or old, beorc or laguz, of a hero named Ike and you'll receive a warm smile and a tale or two of faith, courage, and honesty.
